DANGERS OF HAVING MUSIC AT WEDDINGS

 A trend now at Muslim weddings is that it includes plenty of music, dancing and intermixing. This is clearly, very clearly prohibited in Islam.

Firstly, the day you get married, or anyone from your friends and family are getting married, how much of blessings do you really need on that day? How many people do you want that make Du'a for your life after marriage? And can you expect any of this if you have music on the day you get married, which includes dancing...and on top of that intermingling of both genders? This is completely wrong brothers and sisters.

If you truly want the blessings and sincere Du'a the day you get married, then make sure you have it the way that is highly acceptable in Islam and that which does not earn the wrath of Allah with the least amount of expenses. Make sure you invite a family or an individual who has had no meal for that day. Trust me, their Du'a for you is extremely sincere because they do it out of gratitude to you. Another thing is, make sure that the sisters and brothers have separate sittings arranged, and most importantly, for sisters, please make sure that your hair is covered and make sure that your beauty is only preserved for your husband to see on that day and not for any other random man to stare at you.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said- “Music generates hypocrisy in the heart just as water causes the crops to grow.”

 The Qur’an has declared that a Munafiq (hypocrite) will be in the lowest ranks of Hell fire and will not find for himself any helper. His punishment will be the most severe.”

Allahu Akbar!

A large amount is spent on music, singing and dancing by women entertainers. A marriage without music, gramophone playing, blowing of trumpets and hiring of cars is considered a dull and drab affair. 

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said that- “My Lord has commanded me to eliminate music and singing, idols and the cross (of the Christians) and other objects of ignorance.” (Mishkat)


The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) has prohibited such singing which arouses passions, desire, and lust and in which there are words of Kufr. 

Many songs have words of Kufr in them, if you listen to Music and songs repent. This is very serious yet people and headless regarding it. If we die in this state without faith (Imaan) then the only destination is hell fire, Allah (The Exalted) forbid.


Respected brother/sister in Islam! There is yet time to repent and promise that as from today we shall safeguard ourselves and our children from the punishments by making certain that we are not assaulted by the evils of music. Nor are our womenfolk in contact with strangers whether at home or elsewhere especially at weddings! The time for action is now, before death overtakes us
