DO NOT BE ENGROSSED IN YOUR SIN THAT YOU FORGET YOUR LORD SEES IT ALL.

أَحَٰطَتْ

Assalamu-Alaikum Warahmathullahi Wabarakathuhu!

As Muslims, and by living in a world so full of Fitnah, sinning has become an easy access these days. And yes, it is hard to stay away, you might get tempted to fall into a sin, that's normal, that's the human Fitrah ( human nature). But that in all is not an excuse to sin. You have to teach yourself, your heart of what is good and bad. Remember, you control your thoughts, so make sure your thoughts don't lead you into committing a sin.

Each time you are tempted to commit a sin, remind yourself that your Allah is watching you. It can be any form of sin, be it listening to music or watching a movie, do you think Allah is happy and pleased to see His beloved servant disobeying Him? Absolutely not, and no matter how hard you try, you cant ignore that fact that you are watched over by Him (Allah). And another important thing to consider whilst committing a sin is to remember the destroyer of all pleasures, to remember death. Imagine death reaches you while you are sitting there, enjoying that nice music, or when you have missed/delayed your Salah or maybe watching things that are completely forbidden, anything...any action you do that earns the displeasure of Allah, and death reaches you at that very moment, imagine... Is that how you want to leave this world?

May Allah forgive us and protect us from such a death and may grant us Husnul-Khatimah (A good ending)

 بَلَى مَن كَسَبَ سَيِّئَةً وَأَحَاطَتْ بِهِ خَطِيئَتُهُ فَأُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا

"Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally."- [Surah Baqarah: 2:81]

Many times it happens that a person, when he is committing a sin, he is fully engrossed in it, he is completely lost in it and he is enjoying it so much to such an extent that he doesn't see the wrong that he is committing. He doesn't even realize that what he's doing is wrong. If you look at the word وَأَحَاطَت: It means to completely cover something, to surround something from all sides so that the person has no escape. If you think about it, this wall of sin that has surrounded you is in reality what? It is a wall of fire. If we look at our sins as fire, as our path to Jahannam, then we will never enjoy them, instead we will run away from them (sinning), we will not be comfortable with sinning, and we will try our best to stay as far away as possible from them.

Refection upon the above Ayah:

If we do bad, we are going to be held accountable for it. Sins don't evaporate just like that..they don't just go away unless and until a person repents and until a person follows it up with good deeds that will make up for the wrong he has done.

Lastly, I would like to leave you with a few words. Don't despair in the soothing Mercy of Allah, He loves you 70 times more than your mother and His door to forgiveness is always open for you. Do not for one moment think that you are not worthy of His beautiful forgiveness, because to Him, you are much more worth it than you think, you are His beloved slave. Seek Him and You will find Him, always by your side.

 Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

“All the sons of Adam are sinners, but the best of sinners are those who repent often.” Related by At·Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah with a strong chain of narrators.

“The crying of the sinners is more loved to Allah than the Tasbeeh of the arrogant”
— Imam Ibn al Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah RahimahuAllah
Sh. Ibn Uthaymeen said: “If a person were to sincerely repent, Allaah will forgive all his sins even if they were great.” • [ad-Darb 12/75]
