HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH THE QUR'AN, LESSONS TAKEN FROM SURAH BAQARAH. PART TWO

Reciting the Qur'an has any many virtues, I will list a few below In sha Allah

- It develops love for Allah (swt) in your heart, this way, your Iman increases and you improve in your Deen

-  It is a means of protection in the grave.
If you are sleeping can you prevent an ants or spiders from coming over you? Can you? It is quite possible that it bites you and you wake up from that pain and you push it away, but tell me, when you are lying down in the grave can  you save yourself? Can you move your arm? Can you do anything to protect yourself physically? No, you can't... So you need to something else to protect you and for that you have to prepare now. A person who recites the Qur'an, he will be saved from the punishment of the grave. The recitation of the Qur'an averts the punishment. We all need that, because we can never guarantee that we will be safe there

Whoever reads Tabaarak allaahi bi yadihi’l-mulk [i.e Soorat al-Mulk] every night, Allaah will protect him from the torment of the grave.

                                          -[Narrated by al-Nasaa’i]

- It is a source of great honor on the Day of Judgement-
Abu Umaamah al-Baahili said:  I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam)  say: “Read the Qur’aan, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection interceding for its companions.” - [Muslim]
Just as the Qur’an will intercede for its companions on the Day of Resurrection, it will also testify against those who went against it by neglecting it, ignoring its obligations and transgressing against the limits it set.

- It will lead you to Jannah. Put the Qur'an in front of you, open it and recite from it. Don't put it behind your back by ignoring it..

“The Qur’an is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted and an opponent whose testimony will be accepted. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise, and whoever puts it behind his back, it will drive him to Hell.”
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani]

- If a person does not recite the Qur'an he is missing out on safety and security..He will be left alone in his grave, and in the hereafter. He will be left on his own

- Your treatment with the Book of Allah is going to be the treatment of the Book of Allah with you. You spend time with it, it will not abandon you in the grave, it will not leave you to yourself on the Day of Judgement, and you don't want to be alone on that Day. A day when father and son will be running away from each other, let the Qur'an be with you.

اللهم اجعلنا من أهل القرآن
O Allah make us from the people of the Qur'an.
